What We Fix

Wolf dual-fuel and gas ranges pair professional-grade burners with a precise electric or gas oven, and each half can fail on its own. We service the full range of faults on high-end ranges:

  • A burner that clicks but will not light, or will not spark at all
  • Uneven, weak or yellow flame, or a burner that will not simmer low
  • An oven that will not heat, heats slowly or runs off temperature
  • Fault codes and unresponsive control panels
  • Convection fan, bake and broil element failures
  • Doors that will not latch and failed oven lights

Common Problems and Typical Causes

The classic Wolf call is a single burner that clicks endlessly without lighting. Usually the spark electrode is fouled or wet, the burner cap has shifted, or the spark module is on its way out. Weak or uneven flame often means a clogged burner port or a gas-pressure issue. On the oven side, a dual-fuel range uses an electric bake element and control, so a cold oven with a working cooktop points to the element, the igniter on gas models, or the control board. Because these are gas appliances, we confirm there are no leaks and that everything operates safely before we finish.

Safety first: if you smell gas, do not try to light or troubleshoot the range. Leave the home, avoid switches, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the area is safe, we can diagnose and repair.

Symptom, Likely Cause, and What We Do

Oven off temperatureSensor or calibration faultReplace the sensor, recalibrate against a probe

The clicking burner is our most common range call and usually the least serious. When a sealed burner keeps sparking after it should have lit, or refuses to light while its neighbours are fine, the cause is generally the burner cap sitting slightly out of position or a port clogged by something that boiled over weeks ago. The spark module is working correctly; it simply cannot establish a flame it never got started. Lifting the cap, clearing the ports with a pin, and seating the cap flat resolves a good share of these with no part at all. Where it does not, the electrode has usually cracked its ceramic and is arcing to the burner body instead of across the gap.

Professional-style ranges also throw far more heat at their surroundings than a standard range, and in tightly built kitchens that has real consequences. These units need their specified clearances and a hood that genuinely moves air. Where an installer trimmed those margins to make a cabinet run fit, we see the results downstream: control panels that run hot and age early, knobs and trim discolouring, and adjacent cabinet finishes checking. When we are called for a control fault on a range that has been boxed in too tightly, we will tell you, because fitting the part without dealing with the heat just restarts the same clock.

Range Repair FAQ

My Wolf Burner Clicks but Will Not Light. What Is Wrong?
Persistent clicking with no flame usually means the igniter or spark electrode is fouled or wet, the burner cap is misaligned, or the spark module is failing. It is often a straightforward repair once the exact cause is confirmed.
The Cooktop Works but the Oven Will Not Heat. Can You Fix That?
Yes. On a dual-fuel range the oven has its own igniter or element and control. A no-heat oven with a working cooktop typically traces to the oven igniter, a bake element or the control board, all of which we service.
Do You Handle Gas Safety on Range Repairs?
Yes. We check for leaks and confirm safe operation as part of every gas range repair. If you ever smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 from outside before booking.
