The short version: Cove dishwashers are built by the Sub-Zero Group and do not display numeric fault codes the way some brands do, so we diagnose them by symptom. Most service calls are drainage, spray and water-handling issues, all defined genuine OEM parts.
Cove rounds out the Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen with a dishwasher built to the same standard, and it is increasingly common in Longmont homes that already run those brands. Because Cove relies on a symptom-based diagnosis rather than a code readout, an experienced technician works through the water path methodically to find the fault.
Model Lines We Service

Symptom-To-Cause Table
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Our Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Water left in the tub | Blocked filter, drain hose or pump | Clear the path, test and replace the drain pump |
| Dishes not getting clean | Spray arm blockage or wash pump | Clear the arms, test the wash pump |
| Will not start or fill | Door latch or inlet valve | Test the latch and valve, replace as needed |
| Long cycle, poor drying | Heater or vent fault | Test the heating circuit and vent |
| Leak at the door | Door seal or gasket | Inspect and replace the seal |
Care That Keeps It Quiet
Clean the filter every few weeks, scrape plates rather than pre-rinsing so the sensors read the load correctly, run a cleaning cycle periodically, and keep the door seal wiped down. On the water-softening model, keep the softener charged so glassware stays clear.
When to Call Us
Standing water, poor cleaning, a machine that will not start, or a door leak all call for a hands-on diagnosis and genuine OEM parts. We work the water path in order and replace the exact component.
Cove Not Draining or Cleaning?
Brand-focused diagnosis and genuine OEM parts. Book online or call. Diagnostic and travel fees, if applicable, are confirmed before the appointment and before repair approval.
Diagnosed by Cycle, Not by Code
Cove publishes almost no numeric codes, so the diagnosis leans on what the machine does rather than what it says. Running the unit and watching where in the cycle it hesitates is genuinely informative if you know the sequence. A stall during fill points at the inlet valve or the level sensing. A stall during wash points at the circulation pump or a spray obstruction. A stall at drain points at the pump or the check valve. Working through the cycle in order is faster than pulling parts on suspicion, and it is how these machines are meant to be approached.
When Protection Looks Like Failure
Cove's water management is where the design differs most from a mainstream dishwasher. The unit is built to contain a leak rather than let it reach your floor, which matters in a kitchen with hardwood or stone. The practical consequence is that a Cove will sometimes shut down and refuse to run because it has detected moisture where none should be, and it looks broken while doing precisely what it was designed to do. The job then is to find the small leak that triggered the protection, correct it, and reset the system, not to override it.
